Experience the World’s Natural Wonder in Grand Canyon

Visiting North America’s Grand Canyon must be a life time experience. It is one of those must visited places in the world which draws various exclamatory expressions from the visitors. Situated in the river which is called Colorado, It is considered as one of the world’s seven natural wonders. Perched at the edge of the towering cliffs, colorful rock layers and copper-colored Colorado River, the place invites with the most astounding accomplishments.

Grand Canyon’s Location:-


Grand Canyon is situated in the north-west corner of the Arizona state in Coconino Country of the United States of America. The cities nearer to Grand Canyon’s south rim are William, Tusayan and Flagstaff. The cities nearer to the north rim of Grand Canyon are Arizona, Kanab, Page and Utah. Most part of it remains in National Park which is controlled by National Park Services, the Havasupai Tribe and the Hualapai Tribals Nation.

Grand Canyon’s Special Features:-


In the Grand Canyon, the tourists will experience the spectacular view of some of its amazing features-

South Rim:


The Canyon is separated to two rims- Southern Rim and Northern Rim. The South Rim remains open throughout the year and it is visited by 90 percent visitors of the park. It is well connected with an airport & rail services and with many other transportation hubs, especially with Arizona’s Flagstaff and William, Nev and Las Vegas. Most part of this rim is desert. Apart from some springs, there is no water surface in this area. The main source of water is Roaring Springs. The plants and animals who are living in this extreme climate, have adopted with this condition.

North Rim:


The north rim has the stunning view of Grand Canyons but it often remains closed due to the inclement weather condition when the road journey becomes dangerous. There is about ten miles difference between 2 rims but by walking pass the Grand Canyon and it will take 21 miles which is only tackled by the hikers. Otherwise by vehicle one has to go two hundred and twenty miles. This rim is often referred as other Grand Canyon as the world in the north side is entirely different. The nature here is still very wild as the place is very isolated. Because of the distance, the north rim remains less visited by the tourists which keeps it secluded, peaceful and hustle and bustle free.

The Park:-


Park provides a wide range of visitor’s programs and activities such as ranger led hikes, ranger talks and campfire programs. For camping under the rim, one has to obtain permit and for hiking in the Canyon, one needs the consultation from a ranger.

The Grand Canyon Skywalk:-

This Skywalk is a popular attraction where the visitors walk through a horseshoe which shape glass walkways that is nearly four thousand feet from Grand Canyon floors. It is situated in the Grand Canyon’s western part. Since opening, more than three hundred thousand visitors experienced this skywalk.

Colorado River Trip:-


If one wants to go for the full length river trip in the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon, it will take minimum one week. Shorter half trip in the canyon is also available. The trip will give the experience of excellent views of the Colorado River, the south rim and its inner gorge. Just hiking at the bottom of the canyon requires one full day.
